About Annette
This section delves into the heart and soul of Annette's Animal art, offering insight into the passion for this subject and the journey. Here, you'll discover Annette's artistic vision, dedication to quality, and the unique touch she brings to each piece. Let's explore the story behind the art....
I have always been creative and even ran my own wedding cake business some years ago, creating sugar models and flowers, and accomplished awards at the NEC and distinctions at college. I focused on my art over 12 years ago when I had the opportunity to only work part time in an office based role, and then finally retired. I have attended various art workshops and completed an on-line art course achieving a pass with merit award with The London College of Arts.
I started out with painting my own pets to frame and treasure some years ago. I like to paint, but coloured pencils are my go to tools for detail.
Getting the fur, facial features, and anatomy right with subjects that refuse to stand still could prove to be challenging to say the least. So I tend to use good quality photos for reference, with full permission from the photographer .
My inspiration comes from the natural world and my love of animals and birds from all continents.
It’s been rewarding to be a member of the Association of Animal Artists which also helps support worthy wildlife causes.
I work from a small garden room, and find it relaxing and peaceful; even my dog Cracker likes to visit me most days while I’m working, and is happy just to sleep on my doormat enjoying our quiet time together.
Connecting with My Customers
One of the most rewarding aspects of creating animal art is the opportunity to connect with fellow animal lovers and art enthusiasts. I cherish the stories shared by my customers about their beloved pets or favorite animals, and it inspires me to create custom pieces that capture their unique bond. I take the time to understand their vision and preferences, ensuring that each artwork is tailored to their desires. Customer satisfaction is my utmost priority,
